Made in Jaipur flags to flutter at World Cup

Malaysia Sun (IANS) Sunday 11th March, 2007

After the 2006 FIFA World Cup held in Germany, flags made in Jaipur would flutter in the Caribbean fields during the upcoming cricket World Cup.

A Jaipur based flag manufacturer, Chaggan Lal and Co, is busy making thousands of flags of the participant teams, including those to be sold to the cricket lovers at various venues.

'A Jamaica based firm has placed orders for around 6,000 flags,' says Rajesh Agarwal of Chaggan Lal and Co. 'We are expecting more orders in next few weeks.'

'We are happy to mark our participation in the cricket world cup through our flags,' he added.

Chagan Lal and Co was asked to tailor flags and banners for Brazil, Germany, England, Italy and Croatia during the FIFA World Cup last year.

The company has precisely designed the flags, for the cricket world cup, to glow on TV screens and have been made of shinning satin and lighter in weight, says Aggarwal.

The beauty of the flags also lies in its no stitching work.

'No stitch work is involved in the flags as we have used colour offset prints on satin, which are easy to handle and have great fluttering effect,' Agarwal said.

The firm has also sent caps with the emblems, look alike T-shirts of various playing countries and stickers for the spectators, he added.
