New online TV channel to promote Arabian tourism

A new internet TV channel promoting tourism in the Arab world will go on air Tuesday.

The channel, to be called Asfar TV Online, will be inaugurated under the patronage of Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan at a function in the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

An initiative of Asfar magazine, published from Dubai, the channel will transmit news reports, features and interviews on tourism via the Internet from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and around the world, according to a press release issued by the magazine.

According to Ibrahim Al Dhuhli, publisher and editor of the magazine, the aim of the channel is to provide new online media service for the tourism sector in the Arab world.

'The project is not a mere TV channel. It's a social website for promoting travel and tourism culture in the Arab world,' he stated in the release.
