TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, July 14 (PIA) - - Cases of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is increasing in the Cagayan Valley region as six Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and two Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) were tested positive today as confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH) region 2.
In the latest record of DOH, the total cases now for Cagayan Valley region has reached 177, of which 83 are active cases, 70 recovered, 22 clinically recovered and two died.
The eight new cases today include CV 170, a 28-year-old female from Alcala, Cagayan. She is an LSI but had a travel history in Singapore last March 20. She travelled back to her hometown last July 12 and now at the quarantine facility of the said Local Government Unit (LGU).
CV 171 is a 34-year-old male from Rizal, Cagayan, a seaman who traveled many times since May. She was quarantined in San Juan, Tuao, Cagayan last May 15-June 23, then stayed in Duyun, Rizal town on June 23 to 28, then back to San Juan, Tuao on June 28 to July 2 and on July 3, he traveled to Manila. A specimen sample was collected from him which turned positive today. He is at the Philippine Arena quarantine facility in Bulacan province.
CV 172 is 39-year-old male from San Isidro, Isabela, an OFW from Saudi Arabia. He is asymptomatic and now at the LGU quarantine family.
CV 173 is 30-year-old male from Quezon, Isabela who is an OFW from Bahrain. He is asymptomatic and at the LGU quarantine facility.
CV 174 is 47-year-old male San Agustin, Isabela, also an OFW from Bahrain. He is also asymptomatic and at the LGU quarantine facility.
CV 175 is 45-year-old male from Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, also an OFW from Qatar. He was quarantined at Asian Convention Center in Clark Pampanga where he was tested positive for the virus. He is also asymptomatic.
CV 176 is 32-year-old male from San Manuel, Isabela, an LSI who had travel history in Valenzuela City. He is also asymptomatic and now at the LGU's quarantine facility.
CV 177 is 57-year-old male from Naguilian, Isabela, an OFW from Saudi Arabia. He has symptoms of cough and sore throat. He is at the LGU's quarantine facility.
DOH Health Education and Promotions Unit (HEPU) said contact tracing is now being conducted by the concerned officials in the said areas where the positive cases have traveled and stayed. (MDCT/OTB/PIA-Cagayan)
