Stefanos Tsitsipas came up short in his bid to win a third consecutive Open 13 Provence championship, falling 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-2 to France's Pierre-Hugues Herbert in a Friday quarterfinal match at Marseille, France.
The second-seeded Greek player won just 64 percent of his service points while the unseeded Herbert won 79 percent of the points when he served.
