DHAKA, Bangladesh - Two Biman Bangladesh Airlines planes have collided at Shahjalal International Airport's hangar, the fourth incident in less than three months.
When workers took the Boeing 787 Dreamliner into the hangar for maintenance on Sunday after it arrived from Singapore, the right-wing collided with the left-wing of another Boeing 737.
Tahera Khandaker, a spokesperson for Biman, said engineers were assessing the collision's damage.
After a similar collision in the hangar on April 10, two of the flag carrier's planes were grounded for several days. Over the incident, Biman suspended five officials, including its chief engineer.
On June 4, a runway baggage cart from US-Bangla Airlines collided with a Biman Boeing 737, causing damage to the aircraft.
After the passengers disembarked on June 16, workers began pushing back a Biman Dreamliner without detaching the door from the boarding bridge. The aircraft was not damaged in the incident, but Biman launched an investigation.
A day later, the pilot of a Biman Dash-8 carrying 74 passengers on a domestic flight from Barishal resorted to "technical landing" due to landing gear problems.
