ROME, Italy - In Rome, the "Italy-Bangladesh Friendship and Cooperation Association" was inaugurated to promote collaboration across various domains, particularly in economy, culture, sports, and people-to-people connections. On Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that this association is envisioned to bring the two nations and their citizens closer together.
Given the recent celebration of the Golden Jubilee, marking fifty years of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Italy, the association will serve as a shared platform for both countries. The signing ceremony for the association's memorandum of understanding (MoU) and articles was held at the Italian Senate on Wednesday.
The event witnessed the presence of Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, along with Italian parliamentarians, distinguished individuals, members of the Italian Institute for Asia (ISIA), honorary consul generals of Bangladesh in Italy, officers from the Bangladesh Embassy in Rome, and other attendees.
According to the association's statute, it will be led by two presidents, one vice-president, one director, and eleven board members.
Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen expressed warm congratulations on establishing the association and conveyed his best wishes for its successful and seamless operation.
