SHANGHAI, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Five nominated sites of the Migratory Bird Sanctuaries along the Coast of Yellow Sea-Bohai Gulf of China (Phase II) passed the review process on July 26 to be included as a serial extension of the property of the same name already inscribed on the World Heritage List by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Shanghai Chongming Dongtan National Nature Reserve, located in Chongming Island in Shanghai, is among the five sites, which makes it the first such site in Shanghai to be included in the list.
The decision was made during the 46th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in New Delhi, India, according to China's National Forestry and Grassland Administration.
