BEIJING, China: Chinese electric vehicle (EV) giant BYD is set to hire 20,000 new employees in Zhengzhou during the first quarter of 2025, focusing on research and development (R&D) and manufacturing, according to a report from government-run Henan Daily.
BYD currently employs around 60,000 workers at its production base in Henan province's capital city, and the expansion aims to increase production capacity this year, the report stated.
In 2024, the Zhengzhou facility saw 545,000 vehicles roll off the assembly line, a 169.8 percent increase from the previous year.
