Europe Business Assembly conducted the Oxford Debate about future development trends in healthcare and higher education on the twenty-seventh of September 2019 in Oxford Townhall. The Debate is part of the University of the Future project.

The organizer is the Academic Union Oxford (AUO), the academic association of University management, scientists, academics and experts from 34 countries. This is one of the structural units of Europe Business Assembly or EBA.

The main goal of the AUO is consolidating efforts of scholars, educational managers, businessmen in the field of higher and continuing education, integration with business development in the XXI century.

The Oxford Debate is a unique AUO event format, a special networking platform for college rectors, executives in higher education and medicine, famous educational and healthcare managers from all over the world.

During the recent Oxford Debates, all participants made a presentation of their institutions, offered partnership proposals, shared their successful experiences about advancements and innovations that have been implemented in their organizations.

All attendees outlined top aspects in their professional activities and discussed the roles of healthcare and education in the modern globalized society, their development, and future trends.

The Oxford Debates highlighted two major topics: "How Does Medical Education Mold the Future of Medicine?" and "University of the Future".

The first topic was dedicated to current and future challenges that healthcare has been facing recently. The moderator of the Oxford Debate was Dr. Vincenzo Costigliola, President of the European Medical Association, the Honorary President of the AUO.

During debates, such key topics were discussed, like as follows:

- "How to promote medicine as an attractive and solid profession"?

- "Medical disciplines and jobs which may be in the top demand in the future? How to get ready and pace with time?"

- "Education programs and strategies based on needs: a global focus."

- "The role and effective implementation of imitation learning in medical education."

- "How to effectively combine personal medical practice with healthcare facility management?"

- "Demand and developments in the field of plastic surgery (hair transplantation)."

The Oxford Debate about the University of the Future outlined the most significant recent issues related to higher education. The moderator of this session was Professor John A.Netting, a well-known expert and the editor in chief of the Socrates Almanac, the digest published by EBA.

Europe Business Assembly Held the Oxford Debate on the Future of Healthcare and Education

Leading education experts provided their vision on the future of higher educational institutions, on the innovations that are still required or have been already implemented in their colleges and can be of vital importance for the educators.

This Oxford Debate developed on the following questions:

- "The University of the Future: concepts and perspectives".

- "The role of higher education institutions for sustainable regional development".

- "How can higher education and a graduation diploma help a student develop practical skills and find a better job faster?"

- "Future of higher education in India at the K12 stage".

- "Use of communications, networking, and joint projects for linking and collaboration with colleges around the world".

- "Collaboration instead of competition. How to improve communications and develop cooperation with other universities globally?"

Rectors and vice-chancellors of leading universities, as well as heads of the healthcare facilities and hospitals from 11 countries, took part in the Oxford Debate.

The Oxford Debate got a great publicity, as it went live on the official AUO YouTube channel. More than 2000 people watched the debate session.

Europe Business Assembly considers such events to be interesting and important for professionals in education and healthcare. They help create a multicultural dialogue between countries, outline development trends and form an effective platform for further collaboration and joint project implementation.

The Oxford Debates outcomes and speaking notes were published in the selection of scientific articles "University of the Future" (ISSN 2053-4736).
