S. Korean President Yoon ousted as court upholds impeachment
South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol was ousted from office Friday as the constitutional court upheld a motion by the parliament to impeach Yoon over his short-lived martial law imposition last December.
Moon Hyung-bae, acting chief of the court, read a ruling on Yoon's impeachment, which was broadcast live nationwide, saying it was a unanimous decision of eight justices.
Moon said Yoon broke his duty of protecting the constitution as he damaged the constitutional institutions, such as the National Assembly, and violated the basic rights of people by mobilizing the military and the police.
China to impose additional 34-pct tariffs on all U.S. imports starting April 10
China will impose additional 34-percent tariffs on all products imported from the United States starting from April 10, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced Friday.
The announcement follows the U.S. decision to impose "reciprocal tariffs" on Chinese exports to the United States, a move that the commission said does not conform to international trade rules, seriously undermines China's legitimate rights and interests, and represents a typical act of unilateral bullying.

"While uncertainty remains elevated, it is now becoming clear that the tariff increases will be significantly larger than expected. The same is likely to be true of the economic effects, which will include higher inflation and slower growth. The size and duration of these effects remain uncertain," Powell said.
