Berlin [Germany], April 23 (ANI): Shafi Burfat, the Chairman of Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz, strongly condemned the terrorist attack which took place in Pahalgam on Tuesday.
In a press statement, Burfat said, 'We strongly condemn this inhumane act of violence. According to reports, the attack was carried out by The Resistance Front (TRF), a faction of the Pakistan-backed terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba.'
He further added, 'The international community must not ignore this serious incident. Just a few days before the attack, Pakistan's Army Chief, General Asim Munir, delivered a speech in which he used aggressive and threatening language about Kashmir. This clearly shows the connection between such violent acts and the statements made by the Pakistani military leadership.'
He accused Pakistan's military and its supported terrorist networks of being responsible for this act of terror.
'Pakistan continues to act as a centre of terrorism, posing a threat to peace and security in the region and around the world.'
He further said, 'The Pakistani government also appears to be using terrorism as a strategy to distract its people from the country's deep internal problems, such as political instability, economic failure, and corruption within the army. There is growing public anger and opposition against General Asim Munir, even from within the military. To shift focus away from these issues, Pakistan is encouraging terrorism in India.'
Burfat noted in his statement, 'The world must understand that Pakistan is not only disturbing peace in South Asia but is also supporting terrorist activities that affect global security. It is time for the international community to take action and hold Pakistan accountable for its support of and patronage to terrorist organisations.'
Earlier in the day, President Droupadi Murmu also paid 'heartfelt' condolences to the families who have lost their dear ones in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam and also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured ones.
In a post on X, the Rashtrapati Bhavan handle said that the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir is shocking and painful.
'The terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, is shocking and painful. It is a dastardly and inhuman act which must be condemned unequivocally. Attacking innocent citizens, in this case tourists, is utterly appalling and unpardonable,' the post reads.
'My heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their dear ones and my prayers for the quick recovery of the injured,' it added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday 'strongly' condemned the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam and paid condolences to those who have lost their loved ones.
In a post on X, PM Modi stated that those responsible for this heinous act will be brought to justice. (ANI)
