Patna (Bihar) [India], November 13 (ANI): Union Minister and LJP (Ramvilas) National President Chirag Paswan on Thursday criticised RJD MLC Sunil Kumar Singh over his recent remarks, saying the Mahagathbandhan is unable to accept its impending defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections.
Speaking to ANI on the FIR registered against the RJD legislator, Paswan said the Opposition was resorting to 'derogatory and provocative remarks' out of frustration.
'They are unable to digest the fact that they are losing the Bihar election and, in frustration, are making derogatory and provocative remarks,' he said.
He claimed that there is 'unease' in the opposition alliance, unlike the NDA.
'The level of satisfaction seen among the NDA is not present in the Mahagathbandhan. We are going to form a strong government in Bihar that will work for the progress of the state over the next five years,' he said.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Gaurav Vallabh also hit out at RJD MLC Sunil Kumar Singh over his remarks, saying the comments reflect a 'jungle raj mindset' that the people of Bihar have rejected through their votes.
'The RJD's thinking has now come to light before the people of Bihar. It is against this very jungle raj mindset that the people of Bihar have cast their votes,' he said while speaking to ANI.
Vallabh said the RJD's approach had been exposed before the voters and predicted a poor showing for the RJD and its allies.
'This is nothing but jungle raj, and it's precisely against this that the people of Bihar have voted. Because of this very mindset of theirs, they will not even get 34% marks tomorrow,' the BJP leader said.
Earlier, an FIR was registered under sections 174, 353, 352 of BNS, 123(4) and 125 of the Representation of the People Act and Section 66 of the IT Act against RJD leader Sunil Singh for giving an 'inflammatory' statement.
Earlier, RJD Leader Sunil Singh had issued a strong warning to election officials, cautioning against any attempt to manipulate the people's mandate, otherwise 'the same scenes witnessed on the roads in Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka will be seen on the roads of Bihar as well'.
Singh claimed that in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, 'many RJD candidates were forcibly defeated,' and urged vigilance to ensure such incidents do not repeat.
'Many of our candidates were forcibly defeated in 2020... I have requested all our officials involved in the counting process that, if you defeat the person whom the public has given their mandate, the same scenes you witnessed on the roads in Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka will be seen on the roads of Bihar as well,' Singh told ANI.
The RJD leader further warned that any act against the will of the people could trigger widespread public outrage. 'You will see the common people taking to the streets... We are absolutely vigilant about this, and we urge you not to do anything that goes against public sentiment, that the public will not accept,' Singh added.
Expressing confidence in the RJD's performance, the RJD leader predicted a clear victory for the opposition alliance led by Tejashwi Yadav. 'We are getting 140-160 seats and the new government will be formed in the state under Tejashwi Yadav's leadership,' Singh said.
The exit polls predicted that the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is poised to form the government again in Bihar. (ANI)
